bryon_butler@yahoo.com | I finally bought the A/C Universal collection and am enjoying the film commentaries, with the exception of Frank Coniff's for Who Done It? The person has little knowledge of the movie, made no attempt to do any research, and spent most of the time making bland, general comments that shared nothing new or aided in understanding the movie's development or place in A/C films. His commentary could have applied to any A/C movie as his only qualification seemed to be "I like Abbott and Costello, let me do this commentary." He is billed as a film historian in the collection booklet; this does not come across during the commentary. What a disappointment that a commentary this weak was included in such a fine collection. |

| I know and have worked with Frank Coniff. While I haven't yet seen his commentary on this particular movie I can tell you that he has an extensive knowledge of film and film history. | |
